Almost Ruth

Gathering the handfuls of grain God leaves along the way.

I thought my story was about everything I had lost. God showed me it was about everything He was quietly gathering.

Amber, the author, in a cream blouse beside weathered wood with a golden field behind her.

Helping people notice God’s quiet faithfulness in ordinary life through honest testimony, welcome, and everyday acts of grace.

My Story

Gathering the next handful.

I am not a woman who has her life together. I am a woman who spent years trying to fix herself, striving and afraid, until I discovered that God was never asking me to build a perfect life.

He was asking me to faithfully gather the handfuls of grain He placed in front of me each day.

Seasons of striving.

Seasons of fear.

Seasons of trying to earn what was already mine to receive.

Seasons of learning that surrender is not weakness.

This book is not about becoming extraordinary. It is about discovering God’s faithfulness in ordinary obedience.

If you are exhausted, overlooked, or broken, I want you to know you are not alone — and God still has purpose for you. I would be honored if you walked this journey with me.

The Book

What Almost Ruthis about and who it’s for.

Almost Ruth is about ordinary faith.

Not celebrity faith.

Not platform faith.

Just everyday faithfulness.

It is for the one who…

  • wonders if God still has a purpose for them
  • feels their ordinary life is too small to matter
  • is tired of striving and ready to simply gather
  • needs to know their next handful is enough

God Was Gathering

“I thought my story was about everything I had lost.”

Then God began showing me that He was quietly gathering something far greater.

Through broken dreams, injured eyesight, unanswered questions, ordinary jobs, simple meals, and unexpected grace, He kept leaving handfuls of grain for me to gather.

Almost Ruth is my testimony that God still writes beautiful stories from ordinary lives.

If you're tired, discouraged, or wondering whether He still sees you, I hope you'll walk this journey with me.

Today's Handful of Grain

Every day God places something in front of us.

Sometimes it’s an opportunity.

Sometimes it’s a conversation.

Sometimes it’s simply enough strength to take the next step.

I write these reflections because I’ve learned that faith is often found in the ordinary moments we almost overlook.

Welcome to the Field

Ruth wasn’t famous because she stood on a stage.

She was faithful because she bent down and gathered what God provided.

That’s the kind of life I’m learning to live.

One handful at a time.

Speaking

Invite Amber to speak.

I would love to encourage your church, women’s group, or recovery ministry. Whether it is a Sunday morning room, a small-group retreat, or an evening gathering, I would be honored to come alongside what God is already doing among your people.

My prayer is simple: that people leave talking more about Jesus than about me.
